Have you ever loved the scenery of a place so much that you were willing to look past a less-than-stellar décor? Our client in Carlton, Oregon did exactly that. Surrounded by a beautiful verdant landscape, this newer construction home included weird woodwork, dark rooms with conflicting designs, laminate floors, and carpet cut at odd angles. This home was not her cup of tea and after two years she couldn’t take it any more.
We came in and gutted the home, started from scratch, and created a cohesive space where each room flows beautifully into the next. Taking advantage of a breakfast nook area, we were able to open up the kitchen to create an amazing space for entertaining. By keeping the major appliances near the rear of the kitchen, the open end is free to enhance a relaxing atmosphere.
We loved this rectangular mosaic tile so much that we continued it up all the way to the ceiling and onto the range hood. Floating shelves in the kitchen are the perfect alternative to closed off cabinets and add to the overall feeling of space.
